I. Project Overview

Project Name: 3500mm Steckel Mill Project of Shandong Iron and Steel Group Rizhao Co., Ltd. (Shandong Iron and Steel Rizhao for short).

Shandong Iron and Steel Rizhao put its 3500mm steckel mill into operation in April 2019, with an annual capacity of 1.3 million tons, focusing on thin-gauge high-quality plates. To solve stacking inefficiencies, it introduced Henan Mine’s intelligent steel plate stacker for automatic stacking of thin-gauge and wide-width steel plates.

High Load-Bearing for Thin-Gauge Plates: 50t lifting capacity, suitable for 3.5-13mm thick, 2900-3250mm wide plates, avoiding deformation and scratches.
Integrated Control for Thin-Gauge Production: It connects seamlessly with the production line’s intelligent system, automatically grabbing and stacking without manual intervention, perfectly adapting to thin-gauge production.
Stable Operation: Positioning error ≤±5mm, no major failures, monthly stable operation ≥720 hours, ensuring continuous thin-gauge production.
Green & Efficient: 30% lower energy consumption than manual stacking, adapting to the workshop environment.

III. Application Effects (Verifiable Data)

After two months of use, the stacker achieved remarkable results:

Efficiency Upgrade: Stacking efficiency increased by over 150% (200-220 plates/hour vs. 80-100 manually), reducing labor from 6 to 1 per shift.
Capacity Release: It helped produce an additional 86,000 tons of thin-gauge plates, supporting the production line’s peak output.
Cost Saving: Thin-gauge plate loss rate dropped from 1.2% to below 0.3%, saving about 1.161 million yuan in two months.
