Project Background: Advancing Metallurgical Equipment Upgrades Through Strategic Partnership

Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel, a key hub for high-end steel manufacturing in China, has launched major projects including Cold Rolling 2030, 1550, and the No. 3 Blast Furnace System, aiming at product optimization and green, low-carbon transformation. Since 2014, Henan Mine has served as a core partner, providing customized lifting solutions to improve efficiency, precision, and environmental performance.

 

Core Collaboration

1. Intelligent Upgrade (2014–2016)
Henan Mine delivered 71 sets of high-performance EOT cranes for the 2030 and 1550 projects, including 15 units for warehouse operations. These cranes feature unattended operation, 3D laser positioning (±5 cm accuracy), and anti-sway control, increasing efficiency by over 20%.

Integrated with Baosteel’s WMS, the system enables real-time coordination of logistics and inventory, boosting slab handling efficiency from 30% to over 70% while eliminating material loss risks. Henan Mine was awarded “Outstanding Supplier” by Baosteel Group in 2016.

 

2. Energy-Efficient Customization (No. 3 Blast Furnace Project)
For stricter ultra-low emission requirements, Henan Mine provided tailored solutions:

• Energy saving: High-efficiency motors and VFD technology reduce energy use by ~20%, with energy regeneration systems improving utilization.

• Optimized design: Nine custom double-girder overhead cranes with reduced weight and noise, meeting environmental standards.

• Smart integration: Seamless connection with WMS supports remote monitoring and predictive maintenance.

Results

From 71 intelligent units to 9 customized cranes, Henan Mine has enabled automation, reduced costs and risks, and supported green production at Baosteel Zhanjiang. The long-term partnership reflects strong technical synergy and sets a benchmark for innovation in the steel industry.
