Container ARMG for Railway Project

Recently, the automated container gantry crane (ARMG) customized and manufactured by Henan Mine Crane Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Henan Mine") for a key railway project successfully completed static load, dynamic load and functional joint commissioning load tests at the project site. All indicators fully met and exceeded the design and national standard requirements, marking that the equipment is officially ready for delivery and commissioning, providing key equipment support for the intelligent upgrading of national railway container hubs.
I. Project Background and Equipment Positioning
This project serves a key railway container central station, undertaking core tasks such as China-Europe Railway Express, cross-border container distribution, and multimodal transport connection. It has extremely high requirements for the equipment's adaptability to extreme environments, reliability under continuous heavy loads, high-frequency operation efficiency, and intelligent automation level. Relying on its technical accumulation in the field of alpine/heavy-duty/intelligent ARMG and its performance in the "Belt and Road" overseas projects, Henan Mine successfully won the bid and completed the customized R&D and manufacturing.
II. Core Parameters and Structural Features (A8 Heavy-Duty Work Class, Customized for -40℃ Extreme Cold)

Work Class: A8 Heavy-Duty Work System The whole machine is designed according to the highest level A8 of GB/T 3811, meeting the 24-hour continuous, high-frequency and heavy-load railway container operation requirements. The design life is ≥20 years, adapting to the high-intensity turnover needs of railway hubs.

Adaptability to Extreme Low-Temperature Environment: Stable Operation at -40℃
- The main structures such as main beam, end beam and outrigger adopt Q345D/E grade low-temperature high-strength steel, and the key welds implement low-temperature welding technology to prevent low-temperature brittle fracture.
- The electrical room, driving mechanism and control cabinet all adopt cold-proof, heating and sealing design, and all sensors, cables and bearings are special models for -40℃ low temperature.
- It can carry out all-weather normal loading and unloading of 20′/40′/45′ standard containers under -40℃ extreme cold, strong wind and heavy snow environments, solving the "bottleneck" problem of railway container operation in high-latitude and alpine areas.

III. Operation Efficiency: High Frequency and High Speed, 3 Times Efficiency Improvement

High-Frequency Cycle: It can meet ≥30 loading and unloading cycles per hour at railway hubs, with no pressure for continuous operation.

Ultra-High Operation Speed:
- Trolley Operation: Dual speed (high speed + low speed), balancing efficiency and positioning accuracy;
- Crane Travel: Frequency conversion stepless speed regulation, realizing high-speed long-distance movement and low-speed precise positioning;
- Lifting/Lowering: Fast lifting/lowering + micro-motion precise positioning, balancing efficiency and safety.

Comprehensive Efficiency: Compared with ordinary railway container gantry cranes, the comprehensive hoisting efficiency is increased by 3 times, which greatly shortens the stay time of trains at the station and improves the throughput capacity of railway container hubs.
IV. Intelligent Control System: Full Frequency Conversion + Energy Feedback + ACCS + GPS, Full-Process Automation
1) Full Frequency Conversion Drive + Energy Feedback System
- The lifting, crane travel and trolley all adopt high-end imported/domestic frequency conversion drives, featuring stable start-stop, no impact, precise positioning, low noise and low wear.
- Equipped with energy feedback unit: It recovers potential energy/kinetic energy and feeds it back to the power grid during descending and braking, saving 20%~30% energy, which is green and low-carbon and reduces operation costs.
2) ACCS Automated Control System (Customized Intelligent Core of Henan Mine)
- Automatic Container Stacking/Picking: Connected with the railway yard WMS/TMS, it automatically receives tasks, identifies container positions, plans paths, aligns positions, and lifts/lowers containers.
- Crane Status Visualization: Real-time monitoring of stress, temperature, wind speed, vibration, current, voltage and fault early warning, with remote/local large-screen visualization, realizing early warning, remote diagnosis and reducing downtime.
- Integrated Logistics Information: Container number, weight, position and status are automatically uploaded to the railway information system, with full traceability, meeting the data needs of "single bill system" for multimodal transport.
3) GPS/Beidou High-Precision Positioning + Anti-Sway + Safety Interlock
- Centimeter-Level Positioning: GPS + Beidou dual-mode, with positioning accuracy of ≤±10mm for crane and trolley, ensuring precise positioning under high-speed operation.
- Intelligent Anti-Sway: Frequency conversion + algorithm control, with spreader sway amplitude ≤±1°, ensuring stable operation without sway and high safety and efficiency.
- Multiple Safety Protection: Anemometer, strong wind alarm, anti-overturning, anti-collision, limit, overload, emergency stop, video monitoring + AI foreign object recognition, realizing full-dimensional safety interlock.
V. Key Process of Load Test (Static Load 1.25 Times, Dynamic Load 1.1 Times, Passed at One Time)

Static Load Test (1.25 times rated load, 50.625t): Loading was carried out at the mid-span and cantilever respectively, hanging in the air for 10 minutes and repeated 3 times. There was no permanent deformation of the main beam, no cracks in the welds, no abnormalities in the structure, and the camber/upturn met the standard.

Dynamic Load Test (1.1 times rated load, 44.55t): All mechanisms performed repeated start-stop, braking and joint actions for 1 hour in the full stroke, with stable operation, no abnormal noise, reliable brakes, no leakage and no abnormal temperature rise.

Automated Joint Commissioning Test: The whole process of automatic container grabbing, positioning, stacking, information uploading and remote monitoring was smooth, with precise positioning, excellent anti-sway effect and stable and reliable system.
